Overview: The Maharana Pratap Sagar Sanctuary is commonly called as the Pong dam. The reservoir has been converted to a Bird sanctuary. The reservoir dam is 42 kms in length and 2 kms in width on the Beas River. The Mahrana Pratap Sagar Sanctuary place is now a wildlife sanctuary covering an area of about 45,000 hectares. More than 200 species of migratory find there way to this Sanctuary. The reservoir was declared as a bird sanctuary in 1983.The Maharana Pratap Sagar Sanctuary is near the places like Masroor, patrhankot and nurpur.
